From everyone in the LINAR team, WELCOME to 2025! What a year it’s shaping up to be with opportunities galore and exciting times ahead. But enough about us!
On a cold, wet and blustery Monday morning in the UK, it’s likely that many of you reading this are back at work for the first time since Christmas (no one counts the couple of hours you “logged on” in between). So, we hear you when you tell us the struggle is real, and the Mojo has not yet resurfaced from the festive break.
This week, let’s keep things simple. Three easy, practical ways to set yourself up for success in 2025 and an offer you can’t refuse to get your sales & BD mojo back.

#1. Leave no stone unturned

Go back through the pitches and proposals you made in 2024. Do you know the outcomes for all of them, big or small? If not, now is the perfect opportunity to follow up with those clients who still owe you an answer. Keep it simple:

“Happy New Year, hope you’re well. Just doing some New Year pipeline housekeeping and noticed I never received a response in relation to [xxxxxxxxx]. Do you still need help with that project? Keen to get involved and discuss your plans for 2025. Let me know.”

Should do the trick and may well get your year off to a flyer! If not, it provides a hook for a coffee / call on other 2025 opportunities. A New Year win win.

#2. Personal chest beating session

When you need a break from the screen, sit down with an old fashioned pen & paper (or use SuperWhisper if you’re out with the dog) and write yourself a list of all the things you did well and/or were proud of last year. Don’t limit yourself to work achievements, throw everything in there. If you’re working from home, and you have one, ask your other half what you did well.

Once it’s all down, make yourself a nice brew and read through your list three times. The following things are likely to happen. Don’t be alarmed – this is entirely natural.

  1. You may experience a warm feeling in your chest that rises up and can, at times, lead to a flushing of cheeks.
  2. An inadvertent smile might form on your face and become tricky to remove for an extended period.

 

Whilst taking these moments to bask in your own personal highlight reel for 2024, consider which of the work activities that made you smile can be repeated / enhanced in 2025.

#3. Diarise your revenue

In our experience, most salespeople know their numbers (targets) inside out and back to front. Most professionals, sadly, do not, despite the fact that they all have financial targets they are renumerated against.
